

Balancing Your Crazy Busy Life
What do you really want to do?
What steps can you take to create the life you desire?
You can choose, according to your values, what will make your life feel balanced
and challenging and exciting. Coaching can help you clarify and prioritize your
values and goals, and create a plan for a more balanced life filled with joy and
energy.
Life is a balancing Act.
Who or what do you allow on the other seat of life's teeter totter?
The teeter totter goes up and down. Sometimes our feet touch the ground and
other times our feet dangle and kick like a five-year-old on the playground, not
quite big enough for the equipment. Feeling grounded or not, there is a sense of
energy, with the movement up and down: the rhythm, the pauses, the ascents,
the drops. Wow, what a ride!
Sometimes our relationships with family and friends, with food, with work, with
personal time, with social activities, with creative life, and with spirituality get off
balance. One will take more time than the other. Sometimes it is necessary in
our lives to be off balance for a period of time. Circumstances just take our life out
of our hands. But when that period extends and becomes the norm, the balance
of our entire life becomes unstable. And that just isn’t comfortable, no matter
how you look at it.
There is usually something that we can do to make changes in our everyday life
to create the time we want to accomplish the wishes, dreams and goals that we
think about all the time. Sometimes our belief system creates barriers to
accomplishing those goals. Sometimes we have such mixed feelings and
thoughts, that they jam up the motivation mechanism in our brain and we freeze
up. Those blocks keep us from moving forward with plans and actions that will
help balance our life.

How can I create time for me?
How do you balance your life responsibilities
with the possibilities that you dream of?
When do you allow yourself to actively work
toward making that possibility a reality?
Creating balance does not have to be a black or
white, all or nothing, proposition. I heard Barbara
Sher, author, speaker and coach, talk about a client
that she was working with who kept saying that she
loved to draw but never had the time to do it. After
several sessions of hearing that, Barbara handed her
a pad of paper and a pencil and said, “you have 5
minutes. Draw.” The woman sat quietly and began to
draw. After 5 minutes, she said she felt wonderful
and hadn’t realized that she didn’t have to create a
large amount of time to get that feeling of satisfaction
and joy. You can begin to feel more balanced by just
taking little bits of time to do the things that bring
passion and joy into your life. You can take control of
your time and make it what you want even if it is just a
few minutes a day.
